At the end of August, Google introduced Google Suggest as a default feature on Google.com. This tool, which offers suggestions while typing a search query, will help users to save time and search in a more efficient way. However, the impact that Google Suggest will have on how people search will, in turn, have implication for Paid Search.
Here are a few of the changes that we are probably going to see: -A drop in the volume of long (longtail) keywords as the users are more likely to use short(3-4 words) suggested terms. - Misspellings will be reduced, meaning that misspelled keywords will have a weaker impact on the campaigns. - A decrease in volume/general keywords-due to users following more specific suggestions. - Advertisers will start bidding on the suggested options, making them more competitive and raising their cost. One final point is that the tool can actually be used as a good source of ideas for negative keywords to include in the campaigns. |
